Try your hand at one of these plants—from popular to obscure—that love to live in water. Growing pond plants is a great opportunity to try out a variety of plants that you wouldn’t otherwise get to enjoy. Remove the leaves from the part of the stem that will be under the water. Rather than using soil and planters you can have your own little herb garden arranged in arow of vases without the mess or hassle. Use the left-over base of the stem after you’ve cut all the leaves off.

It’s interesting to see the other plants in this list because I think there are a few I might want to try. Horsetail can grow in standing water of depth around 3-4 inches and in almost any soil type. Northern Blue Flag is a marginal plant that will add a real injection of color to your garden pond.
Heart-leaf Philodendron
All you really need to know is you root the plants in water , then transfer them to pots. String of hearts grown in soil dislikes overwatering, so make sure that only the roots of the plant are submerged in water to prevent rotting. Change the water every two weeks and provide a diluted liquid fertilizer regularly. If growing them in water, change the water weekly and give the plant water-soluble plant food.
To keep the plants nice and healthy, remember to change the water at least once a week. Add a drop or two of liquid fertilizer around once a month. Lavender is a popular herb that many people love to grow. After just a few days, you’ll start to see new roots forming, and the green tops will start to grow.
Water Lily
According to some research studies, the gerbera daisy is one of the most effective plants when it comes to air purification. It can remove benzene from the air and releases oxygen at night. You can place a flamingo lily in your bathroom or kitchen as they grow well in humid areas. Just make sure that the place has lots of bright light. Blue moneywort can add a nice splash of color to any pond. They love full sun or partly shady areas so they can live around almost any pond.
Before you bring your indoor cactus outdoors for the summer, make sure you acclimate it to its new environment gradually. Begin by putting the plant outside in the partial shade or indirect sunlight and eventually move it into the full sun over several weeks. Keep the plants at such a location where they are exposed to indirect light because the light is important for their growth. However, avoid exposing them to direct sunlight or too heated places like radiators, burners, and woodstoves, etc. The Begonia plant is renowned for surviving even in tough & warm weather.
Ti Plant (Cordyline fruticosa)
The baby cacti will grow out of the base of the parent cactus. Gently twist each offset off its parent plant without damaging the roots and place them on top of well-draining soil in individual pots. Water these propagated offsets a little bit at a time, to prevent the soil from staying wet for too long. Once the offsets have adjusted and have grown more roots in their new pot, you can water it as if they were a fully-grown cactus.
Do not overfill or submerge bulbs in the water; otherwise, it will rot. It is well suited to grow in water, and the fresh root forms and begins to sprout in a short time. One or two Wandering Jew stems can be planted in a narrow vase, while more can be planted on a wider pot. These species of Tradescantia root super quickly in water and will continue to grow for several months in a water garden. Does not require much treatment and can be grown both in soil and water.
Aluminum Plant
You can often still save your cactus if you spot the issues quickly. Fertilizing your cactus can be great for its overall health and growth, but it is not necessary. Cacti are very resilient and can survive without fertilizer as long as they are provided with enough light and water. However, you can also help some of them to grow larger if that's what you want. You might have seen giant cacti before, but also tiny ones. So you might be wondering how large your cactus can grow indoors.
It’s good to place them in southern or western facing windows for this reason. The Boston fern, while a hardy plant, needs a cool place with decent humidity and some indirect light. It’s a good idea to provide additional humidity in the dry winter months.

It can be planted in the waterways and has several health benefits. The anti-septic properties of oregano are known to everyone. Celery works well and it is one of my favorites because it grows fast making it fun to watch. Submerged plants – As it says, the plants are entirely submerged. Dipping the cut ends in rooting hormone can help speed up the rooting process and increase the likelihood of success.

If it’s for a narrow top jar, one or two stems with leaves will do. For a larger vase, you could grow about six in the one vase for a more filled-out plant. It’s one of the perks of having a super-fast-growing plant.
